Approach to supervision
My supervision approach is pluralistic and reflective-practice-focused, with a keen interest in the therapist and their process. The supervision space is collaborative and dialogical, attending both to clinical material and to how you experience your work and clients. I aim to create a reflective environment that supports your professional growth and self-awareness.
I ask that supervisees anonymise client details and bring material in a way that protects confidentiality at all times.
Fees & payment
Supervision is charged at £80 per 60-minute session. If you are a counsellor in training, or if your client fees are below this rate, I offer flexibility (subject to availability) so the arrangement remains sustainable for both of us. Fees are reviewed annually and updates take effect on 1 January, with notice provided ahead of time.
Invoices are payable by bank transfer in GBP or EUR before the first session of the invoiced period. If a third party covers the supervision fee, that’s no problem—we’ll agree the arrangements at the outset so invoices go to the right place.
If you are looking for therapy, see therapy fees and session information for counselling rates, concessions, and cancellations.
Frequency & structure
Most supervisees meet 60 minutes every two weeks or for a single 90-minute session each month. This structure keeps momentum while meeting professional-body requirements. The minimum frequency for new supervisees is 1.5 hours per month, though I also welcome practitioners seeking ad-hoc or consultative supervision as needed.
Contracting & policies
Before ongoing work begins, we complete a written supervision agreement covering confidentiality, logistics, payment expectations, and ethical practice. Contracts are signed electronically and you’ll receive a copy once signed.
Cancellations. Sessions cancelled with less than 72 hours’ notice are charged at the full fee because the time has been reserved for you. If I can reschedule in the same week, I will offer alternative slots, but this may not always be possible.
Preparing for our first session
Ahead of the initial consultation you’ll complete a short questionnaire about you, your current or anticipated work, and what you’re looking for in supervision. This lets us use the time to focus on your priorities and how we will collaborate.
Confidentiality & data
For qualified therapists, the supervisory relationship remains between the two of us. I do not enter into data-sharing agreements with agencies, funders, or employers; we keep the focus on the work you bring. Supervisees are asked to anonymise all client material shared in supervision.
You can read more about how I handle and process data on my Privacy Policy.
Forms & admin
For therapists in training, those seeking accreditation, or supervisees requiring references, I’m happy to complete the required placement/course paperwork. Where it’s brief, it’s included; where it requires more time, we’ll either cover it in session or agree a pro-rata charge.
Between-session contact
You’re welcome to get in touch between sessions if something urgent arises. I hate to think of anyone suffering in silence! Short, urgent, check-ins are included when they’re brief. If we need longer to work through an issue, we’ll schedule additional payable time so it receives the attention it deserves.
Book a free supervision consultation
When you’re ready to proceed, book your free supervision consultation so we can confirm availability and finalise the contracting steps.
