How I work therapeutically
My practice is pluralistic and collaborative. Together we explore what you need session by session, blending humanistic, psychodynamic, EMDR, and LGBTQ+ affirmative approaches so the work always reflects your lived experience. The Therapy Overview explains how sessions flow in practice, while the Therapy Approaches page sets out each modality in more detail.
Key elements of my therapeutic philosophy include:
- Relationship first — trust and honesty in our working alliance always come before tools or techniques.
- You're the expert of your life — we collaborate so your lived experience and choices guide the direction of therapy.
- It's not all in your head — we consider how nervous system responses, structural pressures, and community support shape what you’re carrying.

Ongoing development & supervision ethos
I engage in monthly clinical supervision with senior practitioners who challenge and support my work. Supervision sessions focus on safeguarding clients, exploring parallel process, and maintaining ethical, culturally responsive practice. I also undertake regular CPD in trauma, neurodivergence, and LGBTQ+ wellbeing so the work stays current and grounded.
For counsellors and psychotherapists seeking a reflective partnership, explore my Supervision page to see how I facilitate supportive challenge, structure our work together, and honour your developmental goals.
